Steven Adams can afford to live a comfortable lifestyle, making $12.6million to play for the Houston Rockets this season, combined with the $100million-plus he has made in his career.
It came as a shock to fans when Adams posted a picture of his bedroom to his Instagram account this week that it was barely not empty.
The post was captioned ‘new beginnings’ with a praying hands emoji and showed a small bedroom that barely fit his bed.
The bed did not appear to have a frame and was laid on the floor. Nothing was hung up in the room, with only a few of Adams’ personal belongings on the window sill..
After the immediate shock of Adams living the minimalist lifestyle went away, a few fans stated what the big man’s bedroom actually says about him.
‘Men really can survive like this it’s not that big a deal,’ one person said on X.
‘The room is complete in my eyes.’
‘Bro is saving….when he starts making moves, they will be huge.’
‘Fortress of solitude… women won’t understand.’
Adams is about to embark on his first full season with the Rockets after being traded from the Grizzlies in February.
He has not replicated the success he had as a mainstay with the Oklahoma City Thunder in his next two career stops with New Orleans and Memphis.
Yet, the nearly-empty bedroom could be exactly what he needs to fully focus on basketball and get back to his dominant ways.
