‘Everyone Wants to Look Good’ – Elena Rybakina Dishes Out Unique Take on Athletes Balancing Fashion and Performance

I hope I have elevated the fashion sense in the tennis world a little bit,” said Roger Federer. Whenever we talk about fashion in the tennis world, the first name that comes to mind is, of course, Federer! His classy looks, along with his elegance on and off the court, are very popular among the fans. However, today, we’re going to focus on someone who idolized Roger Federer while growing up. Her name is Elena Rybakina. How important does she think it’s for the athletes to look good on the court?

Elena Rybakina was recently spotted making a rare appearance in the middle of her ongoing absence from the tour. She recently uploaded a few Instagram stories, and in the first one, she was spotted with her friend and fellow tennis player, Amina Anshba. Then, in the second one, she shared a few glimpses of picturesque Almaty, Kazakhstan. The third one included a video clip that was posted by V Aesthetics. In that video clip, Rybakina was seen addressing a few questions on how to manage sports, beauty, and fashion altogether.

How does Elena Rybankina get time to combine sports and beauty treatments? “It’s very nice to come (to beauty salons), especially when they make such beauty. So, treat myself—sometimes, but yeah, I do have time for it.“ Does Rybakina think it’s important for the players to look good on the court? In reply to this question, she said, “I think so, especially for girls. Everyone wants to look good on the court because our sport is not an easy one, but in general, I think that fashion is changing a lot now. So there is quite a lot of choice of clothes; I think that is an important aspect.

Time and again Elena Rybakina has turned heads with her stunning on- and off-the-court looks! For example, in March this year, just ahead of the Indian Wells Masters, Rybakina’s off-court elegance in a ‘tenniscore’-inspired photoshoot was showered with love and praise from her fans. She was spotted wearing pieces from Sandro Paris. It included a white cropped polo-neck jumper and a matching white pleated skirt. Rybakina looked stunning in that dress, and she also wore classic black Celine sunglasses along with white platform Walk’n’Dior sneakers. Fans were amazed at seeing this tennis beauty!

Even Rybakina’s vibrant red outfit with shades of purple for the 2024 US Open drew a fair bit of attention from the fans. Overall, we can say she truly loves mixing up her fashion with her beloved tennis.

Well, the 25-year-old Kazakhstani has time and again revealed her admiration for the ‘Swiss Maestro‘. Last year, during an interview, Elena Rybakina admitted she was literally in a state of shock when she saw Roger Federer for the first time in person. She grew up idolizing Federer, and several years ago at Wimbledon, Elena Ryabkina got the chance to take a sneak peek at her tennis idol.

While reflecting her love and admiration for the tennis legend, Rybakina once admitted, “I’ve always liked how Roger Federer is playing. Just his game is amazing but, yeah, except him, I was just enjoying watching the matches no matter who plays, and, yeah, it’s just a joy to watch any match especially when it’s great fights. The idol was for me, like, & still Roger Federer.” This love, respect, and admiration for the Swiss makes us wonder whether or not, she has taken any fashion lessons from the ever-elegant Roger Federer. What do you think?

In 2016, during an interview, we saw Roger Federer speak about his mission to make tennis stylish. He said, “I do believe we’re very lucky as tennis players. I feel like it’s really important to bring style to the game of tennis, because we have this great history, heritage, where we used to walk around or play in long trousers, jumpers, and we’d walk onto the court with jackets like I did — I tried to bring that back. And I feel like now we’re moving into a new generation where we can take more chances again.

According to Roger Federer, it’s very important to have an off-style look. He believes he’s fortunate enough to meet a lot of interesting people and visit quite a few interesting places, which later on helped him on his mission of making tennis fashion great yet again. Now, we can perhaps get an idea of why Elena Rybakina is so passionate about bringing fashion to the court.
