Seth Rollins was written off TV on the RAW after SummerSlam this year. WWE analyst Sam Roberts thinks The Visionary could make his return to confront five-time champion, CM Punk.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins was eager to lay his hands on CM Punk after the latter hit him with the GTS during his match against Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam. However, The Architect was brutally attacked by “Big” Bronson Reed on the August 5 episode of RAW.
The Australian wrestler hit Rollins with six Tsunami and was immediately taken to the hospital with internal bleeding.
Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts discussed the idea of CM Punk potentially facing Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series this year. Roberts said Seth Rollins could return immediately after the match to set up a blockbuster program with his adversary:
“I don’t think anybody should cost [CM] Punk a title match anytime soon. You know, Drew and Punk costing each other matches, been done, perfect for what they were doing, but now it’s like, ‘Okay, we did it. We can’t just keep costing matches.’ I think Gunther can beat Punk clean, but it’d be one of the best matches of Punk’s career. They can shake hands, Gunther can leave, Punk gets a standing ovation, Seth’s music hits. I think Seth comes back at the end of the night and does the exact same thing that Punk did to Seth, and maybe Punk can react in a similar way, not cursing, not because he knows, but Punk just has that look in his eyes like I know what you’re doing,” Roberts said.
Roberts feels WWE could turn Rollins into a heel for his feud with Punk:
“I think you could do [CM] Punk vs. Drew [McIntyre], and he beats Drew. You could do Punk vs. like Dominik Mysterio or somebody and have Punk win, and then you could have Punk lose to Gunther. So Punk wins a couple of matches before he loses. and then Seth [Rollins] comes out, just like Punk did, and it’d be great if you could try to have Seth be a heel to Punk,” he added. WWE recently updated its advertising banner for Monday Night RAW, replacing the injured Seth Rollins with the reigning Intercontinental Champion, Bron Breakker.
The Visionary’s sudden removal from the RAW banner on its official website could mean we may not see him return to TV anytime soon.
Rollins was recently spotted with fellow trainer Marek Brave in his Black and Brave wrestling school. His photo was uploaded on the school’s official Instagram handle, with a caption saying,” WE ARE BACK!”
Is Seth Rollins preparing for his in-ring return? Only time will tell.
