Taylor Swift did not show at SoFi Stadium to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs.
Swift, who was in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium for the first two Chiefs games of the season, also did not make the trip to Atlanta for Kansas City’s win against the Falcons last week.
And her absence in Los Angeles comes a day after the supposed ‘break up’ date in an allegedly leaked ‘contract’ of her and Kelce’s relationship, which suggested they were scheduled to split on September 28. The contract is believed to be fake.
The alleged document, which spread around the internet this month, outlined a detailed plan to release an official statement regarding their breakup at the end of the month.
It appeared to have been written by Kelce’s PR company but the tight end’s team were quick to call it ‘entirely false and fabricated’.
It added that the announcement will be ‘gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect.’
Laying out what the statement would say, they write: ‘Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time.
‘They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.’
However, Travis’ team has since branded the contract as ‘entirely false and fabricated,’ and claimed that they brought in lawyers to try to find whoever created the ‘unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.’
Despite the denials, fans have been waiting with bated breath to spot the pair together for the first time since the rumored deadline of their relationship.
While the songstress was also absent from Mercedes-Benz Stadium last week, many of her fans – and the NFL world – had been anticipating her presence in the City of Angels this week.
The singer owns a house in LA and had been expected to take her place in a VIP suite to watch her man Kelce, but once again skipped her cheerleading duties.
Kelce had turned heads in a black and pink bomber jacket as he strolled into SoFi Stadium earlier on Sunday afternoon.
It’s been a difficult start to the season for the tight end thus far, totaling just eight catches for 69 yards through the first three games.
However, he managed to brush off his popstar girlfriend’s absence in Los Angeles as he set a new franchise record.
In the first quarter of the Chiefs’ visit to Inglewood, the tight end recorded his 917th reception in red and white. The feat broke Tony Gonzalez’s record of 916 catches.
In addition to his new receptions record, Kelce holds the most receiving touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards, and scrimmage yards in the postseason for the Chiefs. The tight end has 19 receiving touchdowns, 165 receptions, 1,903 receiving yards, and 1,910 scrimmage yards in the playoffs.
Kelce rewarded Andy Reid’s faith after the Chiefs head coach defended his tight end this week amid his slow start.
‘I know people are saying that he’s old or that he has distractions, but defenses don’t think that,’ Reid said about Kelce on Wednesday. ‘Trav is fine. He just keeps being Trav. He works his tail off.
‘He hasn’t lost a step. He’s not distracted. (Defenses) are making sure he’s taken care of.’
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made a similar argument about his long-time teammate after their win at the Falcons.
‘I mean the respect factor [defenses] have for Travis is still unreal and it’s well deserved,’ Mahomes said. ‘We’re calling a lot of plays for Travis and it’s like two or three people are going to him.
‘He understands. That’s the great thing about him. He wants to make an impact on the game but he wants to win at the end of the day.
‘I’m going to try and do my best to keep feeding him the ball whenever he’s there, whenever he’s open.
