Why the Anticipation for CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins Will Make It All Worthwhile!

At WWE Bad Blood on October 5, 2024, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre battled in one of the most intense and jaw-dropping Hell in a Cell matches in WWE history. There was no shortage of action, as both men pushed their bodies to the limit to become the victor. In the end, CM Punk stood tall as the winner. On the WWE Monday Night Raw after Bad Blood, CM Punk cut an emotional promo, thanking various groups of people as he painted a vague picture of his future. Seth Rollins came out and stared him down, reminding everyone that he’d be waiting when Punk came back.

However long his hiatus may be, it’ll likely end with him and Rollins face-to-face in the ring.

CM Punk Deserves His Rest

After over two months of fighting Drew McIntyre, it’s fair to say that we won’t be seeing Punk anytime soon. The pain and suffering sustained in a Hell in a Cell match can linger for weeks and sometimes even months.

Taking Punk off TV to heal and rest up will only build anticipation for his eventual match with Rollins.

This rivalry started when Punk stepped foot back into WWE at Survivor Series last year. Rollins had a meltdown after seeing him walk out of the backstage area, so there’s a chance this match could even be uglier than Saturday’s match.

Punk can’t afford more damage to his body, so he needs to be one hundred percent before facing Rollins.

Seth “Freakin’” Rollins Has a Lot on His Plate

It’s no secret that Rollins has a massive problem to deal with in Bronson Reed. He’s furious with Reed for nearly ending his career with six tsunamis. Reed wasn’t on Raw, but Rollins made it clear that he wanted Reed in a match as soon as possible.

There was also some tension with the Intercontinental Champion Jey Uso, as he interrupted Rollins before he could finish his promo.

Triple H likes to give out subtle hints for future storylines, whether backstage or in the ring so that interaction might be useful to remember in a few weeks or months. Rollins is focused on other competitors, so it’s wise to keep him and Punk separated for the time being.

When Should Punk vs. Rollins Be Held?

In WWE, things are always in a state of change, with constant debuting wrestlers, injuries, and title changes. Punk might come back to a whole different company if his hiatus stretches to months rather than weeks.

With only six months left until WrestleMania, the creative team has lots of time to get this feud right.

It’s safe to say that Paradise, Nevada, is the place for the match to go down, as this is a ‘Mania-worthy feud with two people who truly hate each other. Lots of things might go down, some things even involving those two, between now and April.

Whenever and wherever it happens, CM Punk vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins will be a match that’s guaranteed to be memorable.
