Last night’s episode of NXT delivered even more headline-making moments, including the long-awaited WWE debut of Stephanie Vaquer. The NXT North American Championship also changed hands in a must-see bout.
Cora Jade returned to NXT last week and cost Giulia the NXT Women’s Championship during her match with Roxanne Perez. In a backstage interview yesterday evening, Giulia was greeted by an “old friend” who entered the room off-camera.
Back in the ring, Perez bragged about retaining her title last Tuesday and brought out her old friend, Jade. She claimed that not even Perez knew she would be returning and vowed to make a name for herself in the developmental brand.
Jade added that Perez deserves to be champion and suggested her recent heel turn is why they’re friends again. Perez acknowledged that and said she should have listened to Cora long ago.
However, it was at this point Giulia made her way out…alongside a debuting Stephanie Vaquer!
They hit the ring and proceeded to lay waste to Perez and Jade, sending them packing before they both women lifted the NXT Women’s Championship. Something tells us this storyline is only going to get more interesting from here.
Elsewhere in the show, new NXT Champion Trick Williams celebrated his title win alongside Intercontinental Champion Jey Uso, and it looks like Wes Lee will be his first challenger.
Tony D’Angelo defeated Oba Femi to become NXT North American Champion and Randy Orton put on a clinic alongside Je’Von Evans.
