Jayden Reed Reveals the Story Behind Matt LaFleur’s Viral Sideline Outburst During Vikings Clash: ‘Ultimate Crash Mode!

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is having a sensational sophomore campaign. In five games this season, he has recorded 21 catches, 414 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns.

However, one of those endzone receptions came after a bizarre incident involving his head coach Matt LaFleur in the Packers’ narrow loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.

With less than 30 seconds left in the first half, Green Bay, who were trailing 28-0, had seemingly gotten on the scoreboard after Romeo Doubs dove into the endzone for a touchdown. However, replays suggested that the wide receiver’s knee was down before he broke the plane.

While officials discussed the call, the camera was panned towards an animated LaFleur yelling at one of the referees. Explaining what transpired, Reed said:

“I’m watching the game, and I’m like, I think he scored. But you watch, he didn’t. So I think the refs were trying to figure out if he scored or not, so they weren’t really paying attention to Coach LaFleur. Yeah, he’s over here looking at them, calling the timeout. He starts running them, and when you take the headset off, you know it’s all bad. Take the headset off—ultimate crash mode,” Jayden Reed said about the St. Brown Podcast.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Packers outscored the Vikings 22-3 in the game’s final 15 minutes, but it wasn’t enough and they lost by two points. LaFleur was also fined $14,069 for his argument with the referees.

In the post-game press conference, the Packers head coach admitted he shouldn’t have quarreled with the referees and claimed he was “absolutely embarrassed” about his behavior.
