Taylor Swift is set to resume the final leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour in Miami on October 18 for a three-night run at the city’s Hard Rock Arena. Before that, though, she’s showing Florida some love by making a donation to help with relief efforts for damage from the recent Hurricane Helene and from Hurricane Milton, which made landfall Wednesday night in Florida as a Category 3 storm.
Food bank network Feeding America shared an Instagram post late Wednesday night with a statement thanking Swift for a “generous $5 million donation” toward relief efforts. Vanity Fair has independently confirmed the donation.
The statement, attributed to CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, reads in part, “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead.”
“Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need,” the statement concludes.
In the post’s caption, the non-profit organization invites followers to “join Taylor if you’re able” by donating.
The combined damage from Helene and Milton is expected to be costly, with some estimates before the storm ringing in at a potential $175 billion. Ahead of the election, just weeks away, the back-to-back natural disasters and government efforts have become a talking point for both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
