Rhea Ripley looks set to be the next WWE star to sign a major contract according to a new report.
It’s been no secret that many top wrestlers’ contracts in all the major promotions were going to expire in 2024. As such, the promotions have been frantically ensuring that the top performers do not become free agents by securing them to new multi-year deals with a significant increase in pay. Earlier in the year it was reported that WWE were being very proactive in approaching some stars that still had significant time left on their contract to guarantee their services for the next few years, with Ripley’s name being on that list.
In a new update by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, both Ripley and WWE have come to terms on a new deal that is said to be 5 years and with a “considerable raise.” It is also noted that everything has been agreed upon and all that is left is for Ripley to sign, with one source stating that it is “just a matter of time” before the former Women’s Champion commits.
Thanks to her work throughout the past 2 years, The Eradicator has risen up the card to become one of the most popular acts in the entire company. Having a standout match at WrestleMania 40, Ripley retained the title against Becky Lynch in the opening match of the weekend with the band Motionless in White playing her theme song live in Philadelphia.
Failing to regain the Women’s World Championship from Liv Morgan at Bad Blood thanks to a returning Raquel Gonzalez, Ripley is still looking to bring Morgan’s revenge tour to an end. When all is said and done with her rival, Rhea Ripley may have alluded to future plans as she teased a showdown with one wrestler who recently signed with the company.
