P.J. Washington and Alisah Chanel tied the knot almost a year ago in Oct. 2023. The couple shared their wedding photos on their respective Instagram accounts. Most of the photos on Chanel’s post feature images where the couple is wearing their wedding outfits and flaunting their rings.
Several weeks after Chanel’s post, she and Washington shared more wedding photos in a joint Instagram post. The photos in their second post feature images from the ceremony with the caption:
“Some never before seen pics from our wedding. Such a magical day.”
P.J. Washington spent the first four and a half seasons of his career with the Charlotte Hornets. With the Hornets, he established himself as a strong interior scorer who could occasionally stretch the floor. He averaged 13.0 points for the Hornets on a 45.0% shooting clip, including 35.4% from beyond the arc.
He showed that he can be a reliable scorer as one of the top options. However, Washington was traded to the Dallas Mavericks ahead of the 2024 trade deadline and was immediately impactful in helping the Mavs on their Finals run.
While he only averaged 11.0 points per game, his average attempts per game remained largely the same. He averaged 10.8 FGA with the Hornets in his first four seasons and averaged 10.4 FGA with the Mavs in 29 games.
With the addition of Klay Thompson, Washington will likely get fewer touches but this could be to his advantage. P.J. Washington could focus more on his defense and his rebounding, which will be crucial if the Mavs hope to go on another Finals run.
