Korda had a dream start to the North American hardcourt swing, clinching his maiden ATP 500 title at the 2024 Citi Open. With his triumph, the 24-year-old not only broke into the top 20 of the ATP rankings but also mirrored his father Petr’s win at the same event 32 years ago.

The American also reached the semifinals of the Canadian Open before suffering an opening-round exit at the Cincinnati Open in the lead-up to the US Open. He last competed on tour at the New York Major, where he was defeated by Tomas Machac in straight sets in the second round.

After pulling out of all the events during the Asian swing, Sebastian Korda took to social media to announce that he had made the decision to undergo elbow surgery. The American disclosed that the procedure was successful and expressed his eagerness to get back on the court.

“Hi everyone, I wanted to update you all—I’ve been dealing with some elbow issues and my team and I decided surgery was the best option. Everything went great, and I can’t wait to be back on court soon. Thanks for all your support! ️,” Korda posted on Instagram.

Both of Sebastian Korda’s sisters adorably extended their heartwarming support, with Nelly sending her love through a heart emoji and Jessica encouraging him to come back “stronger” after the setback.

“Comeback is always stronger than the setback 🫡,” Jessica commented.
“️,” Nelly posted.

It is no surprise that Jessica Korda and Nelly Korda have shown their support for Sebastian Korda, since the World No. 19 has shared that his sisters are always there for him during tough times.

In an interview with Town & Country magazine before the 2024 US Open, the 24-year-old described his sisters as his “biggest inspirations,” expressing his admiration for their work ethic.

“Both my sisters are my biggest inspirations. Just what they’ve achieved in their careers and how hard they work,” Korda said.
“We’re always in contact if I’m going through something. They can always help me out. I also just really love watching them play and compete. It gives me a lot of inspiration to keep going and keep working hard,” he said.

Sebastian Korda also frequently shows his affection for his sisters on social media. Earlier this year, the American took on babysitting duties for Jessica Korda’s baby son Greyson, adorably cuddling the newborn.
