With the Los Angeles Lakers, greatness is expected from all players on the team. It has become both a gift and a curse for this franchise over the years but something that is fully part of what they do.

The team played in another preseason game on Thursday, this time against the Milwaukee Bucks. Los Angeles grabbed the win over Milwaukee by a score of 107-102 to claim their first preseason win of the year.

Los Angeles looked good for the majority of the game, giving some of their main players real run time. Star LeBron James played in 16 minutes, dropping 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Co-star Anthony Davis played a little longer, logging 25 minutes. He put in 11 points, eight rebounds, and one assist.

But once again, eyes were on rookie guard Bronny James and how he fared in this game. And for the second straight game, Bronny didn’t score a single point.

He went 0-for-4 from the field, including missing two 3-point attempts. Bronny also racked up a -12 in the plus/minus statistic, a sign that his play had a negative impact on the game despite the team win.

It was a tough contest for the young guard as he failed to register a single statistic against Milwaukee. To his credit, he only played six minutes of the game.

However, this is a little troubling sign for the young guard after a semi-promising start to his preseason career. Bronny is showing that he is very much a work in progress and that his game likely won’t translate to the NBA, at least for right now.

But luckily for the Lakers, he was always going to spend the majority of the upcoming season in the G-League. Los Angeles understands that he isn’t ready for the big leagues just yet and they are going to give him time to develop into the player that he needs to be.

The Lakers will be patient with the rookie guard as he tries to figure things out. However, his instincts on the defensive end of the floor have given the Lakers some hope that he can transform into an impactful player.

If his jump shot starts falling, even at a decent clip, Bronny could end up providing the Lakers with production. It will be a wait-and-see game but for now, he will take all the reps he can get on the court with the Lakers.
