Travis Kelce begs Jason not to let his daughters watch ‘Grotesquerie’

Travis Kelce has told brother Jason not to let his nieces watch the premiere of his new FX show ‘Grotesquerie’.

Things may not going well for Kelce on the football field right now after a quiet start to the season for the Kansas City Chiefs that has led some fans and analysts to suggest he retire.

But the tight end is about to embark on a new chapter of his career as he continues to prepare for life after football.

Kelce stars in the horror fiction ‘Grotesquerie’ alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Micaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin.

The pilot episode will premiere on FX on Wednesday at 10pm ET and the series will consist of 10 episodes that will be available for streaming one day later on Hulu.

Jason joked he would sit down to watch the show with daughter Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett

Speaking ahead of the launch on their New Heights podcast, Jason joked he was planning to sit down with his daughters – Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett – to watch the first episode.

‘Are you the bad guy? Are you the killer?’, Jason asked.

‘Can’t tell you. You’re going to have to watch Jason,’ Travis replied.

‘Make sure you have the girls watch this. They are going to love this show.’

Jason told his brother: ‘Listen. Kylie (his wife) would murder me. I am going to have the girls. Is there a warning or is there a lot of surprises?’

Travis quickly shut down the prospect of his nieces watching him, replying: ‘Dude! That was completely a joke. Do not let the girls watch this show.

‘I don’t know if they’ll even like understand what’s going on in the show. It’s very advanced for toddlers.’

Earlier this week, Ryan Murphy gave fans an insight into how Kelce handled his acting debut.

Esteemed TV writer and director Murphy, who has created a number of hit series and also worked with Kim Kardashian on a different project, revealed that he wrote Kelce’s part specifically for him.

He also revealed that Kelce worked with an acting coach for ‘several months’ and turned up knowing everybody’s lines.

Murphy said: ‘We were talking about his future and what does he want to do after football season, and I was just kind of giving him some fatherly advice.

‘I always have a motto in my world and in my work, that a star is a star is a star. It doesn’t matter what field you’re a star in. If you have that charisma, you are going to bring it to whatever you do.

‘He showed up off book. He knew everybody’s lines. He was so professional. He was so committed. He kept saying to me, “I’m real coachable, coach me, coach me”.

‘So I did, and he ended up being a delight. I would love to continue working with him on this and other things.

‘I cannot say enough about him as a leader. He’s just the kindest, sweetest. Everything you think about him is true.’

While his character in the series is yet to be revealed, Kelce provided the intro for the official trailer before appearing twice in the teaser.

In his lone line in the trailer, Kelce’s character monotonously says ‘There’s no future after this.’ He then reappears near the trailer’s conclusion for a split second.

Kelce’s involvement in the series first surfaced in May, shortly after he signed a two-year, $35.24million extension with the Chiefs.

FX’s Grotesquerie will premiere on Disney+ on September 26th in the UK.
