After the summer that LeBron James and Anthony Davis played for Team USA, both players decided to commemorate their achievements. The LA Lakers All-Star duo shared their new tattoos based on the 2024 Paris Olympics success, where they won the gold medal.
The 2024 summer was eventful for both James and Davis. For the 20-time All-Star, he witnessed his firstborn, Bronny, get drafted by the Lakers with the 55th pick. Following that, he suited up for the national team and became an integral part of their quest to win the gold medal.
Davis, on the other hand, remained healthy throughout the entire offseason. He participated in the 2024 Olympics with James and both had great outings for Team USA.
They had the Olympic rings tattooed on their arms as a way to commemorate their accomplishment.
“I got my Olympic rings put on my arm,” James said. “I’m a proud Olympian, I love Team USA. This summer we got the opportunity to bring home the gold at the Paris games.”
However, Davis had some jokes about his teammates’ new Olympic tattoos. The 2020 champion shared that it was his idea and that he was the first between the two of them to get inked.
“Two-time gold medalist, something that I’ve accomplished in my life,” Davis said. “Wanted something that’s meaningful to me, everything on me is meaningful. By the way, I got it first. Don’t let Bron fool y’all, he copied off of me.”
The last time the two players teamed up for Team USA before 2024 was in 2012. Davis was a rookie out of Kentucky and became part of the 2012 roster that had James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and other stars.

LeBron James was surrounded by trade rumors. The rumors were centered around James and a potential trade to the Golden State Warriors, pairing him with Steph Curry. Davis wasn’t active on social media last year and the rumors didn’t affect him.
“I wasn’t on social media at the time so I didn’t see it. I heard about… it was national news,” Davis said. “But I don’t think it affected anybody. I mean, I think that might be the first time ever he was in trade talks in his career.”
“He’s kind of seen everything, so I don’t think that affected him, it didn’t affect our team. But it was definitely strange to hear in a sense of like, it was the first time he’s ever been talked about in a trade before.”
Fans still got their wish and saw James and Curry play on the same team. The Warriors star was part of the Team USA roster that won the gold medal in France.
