Minutes after DeAndre Hopkins’ imminent trade to the Kansas City Chiefs became public news, former team wide receiver and current Miami Dolphin Tyreek Hill posted a cryptic tweet.
Hill had been one of the rumored targets for a trade to Kansas City, which would have reunited him with the Chiefs, where he won two Supers Bowls before being traded to Miami last year.
Hill was thought to be on the trading block in spite of his massive contract because of the Dolphins disappointing season.
Miami is 2-4 and has looked sluggish without injured quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered his fourth concussion in five years in Week 2 and has not played since.
Hill’s post on X read ‘hm’ and has garnered nearly 2million views in the several hours since it went live.
Of course, there is no direct mention of Hopkins or the Chiefs, but the timing is suspect.
Hill did speak on the rumors of possibly being traded back to the Chiefs earlier this month.
‘I’m just focused on right here and right now. We got a beautiful team here and I want to be a part of it. We got a great situation here. My family loves it,’ Hill said.
‘We all know the NFL is a business, whatever happens, happens. Moving forward, I would love to be here, I love being here. I love the guys.’
Hopkins was traded from the Titans on Wednesday for a fifth-round pick that could improve based on playing time.
It is the third straight season the Chiefs have acquired a wide receiver at the trade deadline after Kadarius Toney and Mecole Hardman came into the fold in 2022 and last season respectively.
