Derrick Rose is enjoying his retirement by being the perfect dad for his children. Since hanging up his boots, the former NBA player has been spending a lot of time with his wife and kids, as well as talking about basketball.
Yesterday was another one of those occasions as the former Chicago Bulls superstar reposted a series of pictures that his wife Alaina Anderson put out on her social media. Rose had accompanied his daughter and son for a fun day out on October 26.
In the first few pictures and videos that Alaina posted on her Instagram Story, her daughter Layla Malibu Rose was seen all dressed in a pink cowboy outfit. Joining her in the picture was one of her friends, who was also dressed in those cowboy outfits.

In some of the other videos that Alaina Anderson posted, Derrick Rose seemed to join the kids’ party. In one of the videos, he was seen pouring cold drinks for his daughter from a machine.
In one of the videos, both girls were dancing with each other while their amused son London smiled on the side.
“Lord help us,” Anderson wrote in the caption.
Derrick Rose and Alaina Anderson have two children, a daughter named Layla Malibu Rose and a son named London Marley. Rose also has a son PJ Rose with his former girlfriend Mieka Reese.
Derrick Rose had a 15-year stellar career in the NBA. Although a part of his basketball journey was jeopardized by an injury in the early part of his career, he managed the latter part masterfully.
He became the youngest player to win an MVP award and managed to put the Bulls on the map once again after Michael Jordan. However, when Rose decided to hang his boots, it was his children and his responsibility as a father that motivated him to step away.
In a conversation with Jeff Teague on the “Club 520” podcast, Rose revealed the conversation he had with his son PJ Rose. He recalled telling his son that he was not only tired of playing but also wanted to spend time with him and his siblings.
“I’m quitting because of me. Yeah, I’m tired of it. I’m doing this solely to be around y’all. Taking you to school, I’m picking you up. I’m doing this; I’m doing that.’ You may not understand it now; that’s my whole little saying now. You ain’t going to understand it, but later on, you’re going to respect it.”
In 15 seasons in the NBA, Derrick Rose averaged 17.4 points per game and shot 46.1% from the field and 36.6% from the 3-point line. He won the Rookie of the Year award in the 2008-09 season and two years later, he became the youngest league MVP, at age 22.
