For Stephen Curry’s debut as an Olympian for Team USA, the script could not have been more perfect. His performance in the Gold Medal Game defies description, but referring to him as the “Greatest Shooter Ever” is a fair place to start.
Pre-game warm-ups for the 2024–2025 NBA Season saw Stephen Curry take the court in the brand-new UA Curry 12 colorway, a PE that was inspired by his valiant accomplishments in Paris. These Curry 12s, which were given to him by his brand partner Under Armour, had an all-gold molded top and a matte midsole finish. To genuinely commemorate the all-time legend, “Greatest Shooter Ever” is embossed onto the tongue, and the interior and tongue are both decorated in a deep dark blue navy.
The Curry 12 is set to arrive in stores in a variety of colorways that are influenced by Stephen’s extraordinary fame, even if this PE will not be available for purchase. A number of new Curry 12 models are planned for the rest of 2024 and early 2025, while the recently released “Gravity” is currently available in retailers.
NBA star Klay Thompson helped his new team defeat San Antonio 120-109 at home in the season opener by making a game-high six three-pointers in his historic Dallas debut.
The defending Western Conference champion Mavericks defeated their Texas rivals in the fourth quarter thanks to the impressive play of Luka Doncic (28 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists) and Kyrie Irving (15 points).
However, Thompson, who won four titles in his 13 years with Golden State, was the one who made the news.
When he joined as a free agency, Thompson was viewed as the key to the Mavs’ hopes of winning the championship. He finished with 22 points and went 6-of-10 from long range.
On his Mavs debut, the 34-year-old set a new franchise mark for the most threes.
Thompson said, “I couldn’t have asked for a better start,” after the game on TNT Sports.
“Just sharing the floor with Ky, Luka and the rest of the guys is very special after a hard month of really good work and seeing it come to fruition.”Although it’s only a first step toward our goals, it’s a starting point.”
The Mavericks signed Thompson with the goal of assisting Slovenian sensation Doncic in winning his first NBA championship.
“Luka makes the game easier for not just myself but everybody in this arena,” Thompson stated.
“I’m here to assist him strive to be among the best because his passing skill is unmatched.
“We know it’s his team, the show runs through him, but it takes a whole squad to go where we want to go.”
Dereck Lively, one of six players in double figures, scored a double-double off the bench for Dallas with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Julian Chamagnie, Jeremy Sochan, and former No. 1 draft pick Victor Wembanyama (17 points) were among San Antonio’s four players.
Due to a wrist injury, Australian guard Dante Exum was unable to play for the Mavs.
In Washington, the Boston Celtics easily defeated the Wizards 122-102 behind 25 points and 11 rebounds from Jayson Tatum.
The reigning NBA champions were led by Derrick White (19 points) and Payton Pritchard (15 points), while Jaylen Brown finished with 27 points and eight rebounds.
In his debut game for his new team, Jonas Valanciunas scored 18 points off the bench, while Jordan Poole led Washington in scoring with 26 points, including 20 in the first half.
The Celtics outscored the Wizards 34-19 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach after gaining their first double-digit lead shortly before halftime.
Australian veteran Joe Ingles will play his second game for title contenders Minnesota against Sacramento later on Friday (AEDT).
The other late game pits Denver against fellow contender Oklahoma City.
