History was made in the Orlando Magic vs Indiana Pacers match on the morning of October 29, Vietnam time, revolving around former Rookie of The Year and young talent Paolo Banchero.
After scoring 37 points in the first two quarters to tie a club record, Banchero finished the game with 50 points, completing a double-double with 13 rebounds and adding nine assists.
It was even sweeter when Paolo Banchero’s historic day ended with a 119-115 victory for the Orlando Magic, their third win in four appearances since the start of the season.
At 21 years and 351 days old, Paolo Banchero became the youngest Orlando Magic player in history to have a 50-point game.
At the same time, talented Banchero is also the second youngest player in NBA history to score 50 points in a game. He is only behind LeBron James (20 years, 80 days) with a 50-point, 10 rebounds, 5 assists game against the Toronto Raptors in 2005.
With the Orlando Magic, legend Tracy McGrady still holds the club’s scoring record, scoring 62 points against the Wizards in March 2004.
This is also the last time the Magic had a player score 50 points, so the team has been “thirsty for a 50-point game” for more than 20 years.
List of 50-point games in Orlando Magic history:
– Nick Anderson 50 PTS vs New Jersey Nets April 23, 1993
– Shaquille O’Neal 53 PTS vs Minnesota Timberwolves April 20, 1994

Among Magic’s 50-point games, Paolo Banchero had the most assists (9 ASTs) and the second most rebounds (13 REBs, behind O’Neal’s 18 REBs).
In the first half of today’s game, Banchero scored 37 points to equal the most points scored by a Magic player in history through two halves. For comparison, the entire starting lineup of the Pacers today only had 37 points in the first two halves, equal to Banchero.
Last season, the entire NBA had only four first-half 37-pointers, two by Devin Booker, one by Karl-Anthony Towns and one by Luka Doncic.
