LeBron James and Bronny James have a history with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The LA Lakers rookie was born when his father career’s was just starting and spent a big chunk of his childhood in Cleveland, and was present when the Cavaliers won their first-ever NBA championship in 2016.

As for LeBron, there isn’t much to say other than he’s the greatest Cavalier to ever live.

The 39-year-old started his career in Cleveland, turned the franchise around and made it a contender in the Eastern Conference until he went to South Florida.

Once he returned from Miami as a two-time NBA champion, he won a championship in Cleveland after completing a comeback from a 3-1 deficit in the Finals.

LeBron James and Bronny James will play their first game against the Cavaliers on Wednesday and the franchise paid respect to them with two special graphics.

They have a “Welcome Home, LeBron” message with the King holding the Larry O’Brien and Finals MVP trophy, and a “Welcome Home, Bronny” message with the young adult celebrating the 2016 championship with his father and JR Smith.

The history these two have with the Cavaliers and the moments they lived together won’t go away just like that. Bronny is now starting his journey in the NBA, hoping to create his own name and get out of the shadow of his father.

As for LeBron, he’s still trying to win another championship with the Lakers, but his attempts after the 2019-20 NBA season have fallen short.

The Cavaliers have remained attached to the James family, as they were even considered a landing spot for Bronny and his father LeBron James when nobody knew where the former USC guard would play.

Both the Cavaliers and Lakers are having terrific starts to the season and this clash could be one of the best of the early stages of the campaign.

After another offseason full of speculation regarding LeBron James’ future in the NBA, insider Shams Charania reported that the four-time NBA champion isn’t planning on retiring anytime soon. It seems like he’ll be around for “at least” two more seasons.

“REPORT: LeBron James is expected to play ‘at least’ 2 more years in the NBA and potentially a 3rd, per Shams Charania,” Lakers Daily tweeted.

Having the chance to play with his son has given LeBron more energy (as if he needed more) and he’ll be around for at least two more seasons.
