Bronny James played his second NBA game against his father, LeBron James’ former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Wednesday. The Lakers suffered a blowout 134-110 loss. They waived the white flag early in the fourth quarter, giving Bronny the chance to make an on-court appearance for the first time since opening night.
Bronny played five minutes in garbage time. He scored his first NBA points on a midrange attempt, too. Bronny finished with two points, two assists and a steal.

The Cavaliers fans were buzzing to see Bronny James in action. As the game seemingly looked fully under control for the Cavaliers, the fans started “we want Bronny” chants once they saw JJ Redick including some of his reserves in the lineup and pulling out the starters.
Bronny’s introduction and first NBA basket got a standing ovation shortly from the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse crowd.
It was fitting for Bronny to get his first NBA basket against the franchise that drafted his father, LeBron James. It was also the 20-year-old Akron, Ohio native’s hometown franchise.
The Cavaliers also honored LeBron and Bronny with a tribute to celebrate them for creating history as the first father-son duo to play in the NBA.
The Cavaliers made a video edit to show all of LeBron James’ moments in the team’s jersey with Bronny James from back in the day. The only missing ingredient was LeBron and Bronny being on the court together.
The Lakers couldn’t make that happen, with LA trailing more than 20 points for majority of the game. That was reportedly the initial plan, but the Lakers’ underwhelming performance didn’t make that happen.
LeBron James finished the night with 26 points, six rebounds and three assists on 9 of 13 shots in his return to Cleveland. The Lakers dropped to 3-2 on the season after a second consecutive loss.
