The actor does not want to be left with a bad taste in his mouth after WrestleMania XL
The Rock didn’t come out of his last WWE adventure at the top of his game.
After losing his match at WrestleMania XL and being booed by the WWE Universe, everything leads us to suspect that sooner or later he will return to WWE and pick up where he left off, challenging WWE World Champion Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes gives us the key to the legend’s return
Things have certainly changed since The Rock left WWE after WrestleMania. The landscape he may find when he returns is nothing like what he left: The Bloodline is completely diverse.
Roman Reigns shows no signs of life, Jimmy is no longer around and everything that made his short stay a small paradise has vanished in the cool summer breeze.
On second thought, though, there’s probably one thing that will remain the same, and that’s the fact that Cody Rhodes will likely still be champion. The Atlanta native has been unrivaled since winning the championship in April and has already defeated AJ Styles and Logan Paul in high-profile bouts, proving that he’s at the top of the roster.
Rhodes spoke about The Rock’s potential comeback on “The Pivot podcast”: “I wouldn’t want him to come back the same way he did for WrestleMania. It’s not enough to train for two or three months, say he’s really sorry that he’s got a lot of work in Hollywood and go back out.
“I hope he comes back and I hope he comes back fully psyched so we can continue our rivalry. If I could give you a date, I would say it will be next year already; I think 2025.”
2025 is the most logical date
All signs suggest 2025 as the most appropriate date for that to happen. The place for that big match would be WrestleMania 41, but we wouldn’t have to wait until April, as The Rock could return at the Royal Rumble (at the end of January) to restart the rivalry in the lead up to the big show.
Rhodes doesn’t forget that The Rock is to blame for nearly missing out on the WrestleMania main event, and that, if it weren’t for the fans, the current situation could be quite diverse.
“There are a lot of people who think he’s The Rock and he can do whatever he wants. I’ve come to hear that and it sounds crazy to me,” said Rhodes.
“To make it to the main event on the second night of WrestleMania, which needless to say is our Super Bowl, you have to be here and have proven things all year long. Rock should know that I’m not one of those guys and it didn’t feel right to me; I wasn’t going to walk away.”
