Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan Are Dominating Television Time On Raw

The WWE storyline between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan has been one of the hottest in the entire industry in recent months, with both women doing a fantastic job of capturing fans’ attention. Their promo exchanges have been entertaining, they’ve been involved in various segments, and their matches have also been delivered.

While having a storyline as strong as this is a positive for the company, it is also causing a major problem. WWE’s women’s division is about more than just these two women, but that’s not how it feels when watching WWE Raw on a weekly basis.

The Rest Of Raw’s Women’s Division Is Suffering

From the moment Ripley and Morgan kicked off their storyline, they’ve been given tons of television time to build their feud and make fans care about what they’re doing. From lengthy promo battles to backstage segments to physical brawls in and around the ring, Triple H is investing heavily in this storyline.

Because their issues also involve The Judgment Day faction, most notably Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio, they’ve been involved in many of their segments. This has meant that Ripley and Morgan’s issues have dominated WWE Raw for months, and that’s one of the reasons the angle is so hot.

Fans are given new twists every week, and both women have done a terrific job of ensuring that fans have a reason to care about the next chapter in the storyline. However, when they’re dominating so much time, there are only limited opportunities for other people within the women’s division to shine.

It’s starting to become a problem for WWE because there is a distinct lack of star power for the women’s side of the red brand outside of those two. With Becky Lynch gone, WWE is lacking another major player whose fans are interested in seeing, and that’s where Ripley and Morgan’s feuding with others could help elevate them.

No Other Women Are Being Built As Future Contenders

Triple H Has Taken His Eye Off The Prize On Raw

When it comes to the men’s division in WWE, Triple H is constantly building talent, so they’re ready to jump into any big storyline. He’s made Chad Gable a compelling character, Sheamus and Pete Dunne have a great storyline, and Bronson Reed is being showcased as a monster.

They could all be plugged into title feuds at any point, and that’s because Triple H is focusing on building wrestlers outside the ongoing title feuds. However, when it comes to the women’s division on the red brand, that is a problem because it’s not something that’s happening.

Of course, there are other women’s segments and matches, but they’re not getting the same level of attention as Ripley and Morgan. Fans want to see more female storylines that are given the same dedicated time, and that’s why WWE’s focus on this particular storyline is a creative nightmare.

There’s A Lack Of Obvious Opponent For The Winner Of Liv Morgan Vs. Rhea Ripley

No Women On Raw Have Been Built Up As Championship Worthy

Ultimately, WWE’s biggest problem with this storyline is that there is no obvious opponent for whoever winds up winning it. The angle isn’t showing any signs of slowing down at the moment, but when it does, one of them will be holding Championship gold and will need an opponent.

Unfortunately, WWE’s creative team hasn’t been placing enough focus on the other women on the roster. While they’ve been put into random matches, and the women’s tag team division has been getting plenty of opportunities to showcase their ability, it’s hard to see who is ready to step up and be a genuine challenger.

It’s one of WWE’s biggest problems when it comes to the women’s division. The company often puts a lot of focus on the title storylines but neglects the rest of the roster, which stops them from being built up to the point where they feel important. There are plenty of talented workers on the roster, but building someone to the level of star power that Morgan and Ripley currently have will be impossible to achieve overnight.

That will then hurt the person who competes against them because they will struggle to get the fans on their side. This, in turn, will hurt whoever is the champion because the storyline won’t be engaging, and it’ll let fans down.
