James described being able to design a PlayStation controller and console cover as “a pretty cool thing,” particularly because he was able to give a nod to his “I Promise” students.

The bottom right of the DualSense controller,  features the “I Promise” phrase which is a reference to the public school that James opened in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

On the center of the console cover and on the controller also features the phrase “Nothing is Given. Everything is earned,” a quote also associated with James in his illustrious basketball career.

The post later describes King James as the “first-ever collaborator to design limited-edition PlayStation products,” suggesting that other PlayStation Playmakers may potentially design other limited-edition accessories in the future.

For now, there is little information on how customers can own a copy of any of the new accessories or the official release date, but the post states that pre-orders will open “later this year.”

However, when it is indeed available, fans in selected markets would be able to have access to it via PlayStation’s direct online store, although details of the specific markets remain unknown.
