AEW’s New TV Rights Deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Features an Intriguing Twist Involving Max!

AEW is staying home.

Tony Khan’s pro wrestling company made it official Wednesday, announcing a new multi-year and multi-platform television rights renewal with Warner Bros. Discovery as the two celebrate the fifth anniversary of AEW: Dynamite on Wednesday.

AEW: Dynamite (Wednesdays on TBS) and AEW: Collision (Saturdays on TNT) will remain exclusive to WBD’s networks and will be simulcast live exclusively on Max for U.S. subscribers only beginning in January 2025.

All AEW programs airing on WBD’s networks will also be available to stream on-demand on Max.

AEW and it's stars will now stream live on MAX as part of a new television deal.

The deal is valued at upward of $150 million per year, according to Variety.

Sports Business Journal reported that it’s a three-year deal with an option for a fourth year.

“We are honored to announce the extension of our incredible partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery,” said AEW CEO Tony Khan said. “This extension continues the tradition of iconic wrestling events broadcast on TBS and TNT, while also establishing a new legacy for AEW through weekly live streams on Max for years to come.”

AEW pay-per-views will now also be available on Max at a discounted price per event to subscribers beginning later in 2025.

“Tony Khan and the entire AEW team have been incredible partners, and we are thrilled to strike this expanded agreement to deliver amazing new AEW content and stories to TNT and TBS, as well as bring the thrilling live action to Max for the first time,” said Kathleen Finch, Chairman and CEO of US Networks, WBD.

“We are focused on creating fresh and authentic experiences for AEW’s passionate and engaged fanbase while also introducing them to our growing lineup of high-action sports and entertainment at TNT and beyond.”

The deal signals the end of AEW Rampage on Friday nights on TNT, but multiple reports have said AEW is looking to sell a third show to a separate media outlet — with Fox’s networks being among the potential suitors.

Warner Bros. Discovery is the only television partner AEW has known since 2019 — when the wrestling promotion got off the ground.
