Buccaneers Injury Update: 5 Stars Officially Ruled Out for Falcons Game Ft. Luke Goedeke & Calijah Kancey

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are gearing up for a challenging matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football, but their injury report tells a concerning story. Eyebrows are raised of the Buccs fans for which players to watch.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially ruled out five key players for Thursday night’s clash against the Atlanta Falcons. Offensive tackle Luke Goedeke and defensive lineman Calijah Kancey headline the list of absentees, including safety Antoine Winfield, wide receiver Jalen McMillan, and wide receiver Trey Palmer. With the Bucs battling injuries on both sides of the ball, their depth will be tested.

HC Todd Bowles also confirmed that RT Luke Goedeke will miss his fourth consecutive game due to a lingering concussion. Goedeke’s absence has been felt, with the team surrendering 12 sacks in the past two games. Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. will also sit out, nursing a foot injury that has kept him sidelined for weeks.

Wide receivers Jalen McMillan and Trey Palmer will also miss Thursday’s game, dealing with hamstring and concussion issues, respectively. In addition to these confirmed absences, running back Rachaad White is listed as questionable due to an illness. If White is unable to play, Bucky Irving may step in, despite his own hamstring concerns. Irving has vowed to play, but his status remains uncertain.

On a more positive note, star wideout Mike Evans is expected to play despite knee and calf issues that limited his practice participation. Fellow receiver Kameron Johnson should also be available, having overcome his ankle concerns. The Buccaneers will rely on their depth to overcome these injuries and secure a win against the Falcons. With key players missing, Thursday Night Football just got a lot more challenging for Tampa Bay.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) and Atlanta Falcons (2-2) are set to clash in a pivotal NFC South matchup on Thursday Night Football. This divisional battle promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams looking to assert their dominance. The Buccaneers, currently atop the division, aim to build on their early-season momentum, while the Falcons seek to prove themselves as legitimate division contenders.

The key to Tampa Bay’s success lies in quarterback Baker Mayfield’s impressive performance. Mayfield has thrown for 984 yards with eight touchdowns and just two interceptions, boasting a 106.9 passer rating. Running back Bucky Irving, who’s vowed to play despite a hamstring concern, will also be key.

On the other side, the Falcons boast veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins, who’s completing 64.7% of his passes for 864 yards. Rookie running back Bijan Robinson has been a bright spot, gaining 224 yards rushing and 135 yards receiving. Atlanta’s strong offensive line, featuring Chris Lindstrom and Jake Matthews, will look to propel their team to victory.

Coach Todd Bowles recognizes the Falcons’ newfound talent and confidence. “They’re different offensively and defensively… They’re playing faster and with a lot of confidence. They added quite a few guys – they’ve got a lot of talent over there,” said the coach. The Buccaneers will need to be on their game to counter Atlanta’s impressive roster.

The stage is set for an intense showdown at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Catch the action on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, October 3, at 8:20 PM EST. The Falcons are currently favored (-125) with a spread of -1.5 (-110), while the Buccaneers are +105.

As the NFC South standings hang in the balance, this matchup could have significant implications for the division. Will the Buccaneers continue their winning ways, or will the Falcons prove themselves as legitimate contenders? Tune in to find out.
