LEBRON James wants his iconic Olympic career to be remembered, and what better way to do it than by displaying it in ink?
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar, 39, decided to add an Olympic rings tattoo to his collection over the weekend.
James is coming off leading Team USA to a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics in July.
It was his third gold medal and the Olympic team’s fifth consecutive first-place finish.
So two months after his third Olympic appearance, the heavily tattooed LeBron was seen in an Instagram video with famed tattoo artist Ganga Tattoo.
He was seen getting inked and posed to the camera following the completion of the tattoo.
The ink displayed the five interlaced Olympic rings.
The location of the tattoo was near his right elbow.
James has gotten tattoos from the Los Angeles-based Ganga Tattoo in the past.
In 2021, he got a horror-film-inspired black-and-white tattoo that featured the fictional movie characters Freddy Kruger, Michael Myers, and Jason Voorhees.
The ink appears to be on the top of his right thigh.
LeBron’s latest tattoo comes after earning his first gold in 12 years.
He was Team USA’s captain and averaged 14.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 10.2 assists in this summer’s Olympics.
James received MVP honors after the squad’s first-place finish.
He has three career gold medals (2008, 2012, 2024).
LeBron likely played his final Olympics due to the fact he’ll be 43 in the next iconic competition.
The 2028 Olympics will be in Los Angeles.
While James won’t commit to playing in those games, he didn’t rule out the possibility either.
“No, I can’t see myself playing in L.A.,” the four-time MVP and NBA champion recently said, “but I also didn’t see myself playing in Paris.”
In the meantime, LeBron will prepare to play in the 22nd season of his career next month.
He will be coached by JJ Redick – the former NBA player who will be in his first season at the helm.
