Claressa Maria Shields is an American professional boxer and MMA fighter, hailing from Michigan, USA. She is a three-division world champion having multiple titles in the super-welterweight, middleweight, and super-middleweight.

Shields is one of only 8 boxers, male or female, to hold all four major belts at the same time. She is also a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist for her country. She goes by the nickname ?GWOAT?.

As a professional boxer, Shields ranks #1 on ESPN?s Pound-for-Pound list for female fighters while ranking #2 on The Ring Magazine as of 2021. While she is also the fastest in terms of fights, to become a two-weight and three-weight world champion.

Shields grew up under difficult circumstances but found solace in God through Christianity. At 11, her father introduced her to the sport, teaching her to look up to Laila Ali. Shields never looked back after that.

As an amateur, Shields has a near-perfect record of 77-1. Her only defeat came against Savannah Marshall, which is to date, the only time Shields has lost in the boxing ring.

She also won two Junior Olympics Championships, the 2011 National Police Athletic League Championships, the 2015 Pan-American Games, as well as two Olympic Golds in 2012 and 2016.

As a professional, she is a three-division world champion and was also an undisputed middleweight champion. In this time, she has also had a documentary released, titled ?T-Rex: Her fight for gold?.

In 2020, Claressa Shields signed a deal with MMA organization Pro Fighting League. Therefore, she will become the only fighter to simultaneously complete in boxing and MMA.

As a professional, Claressa Shields? record stands at an impressive 10-0 with 2 KOs. However, what’s impressive is what she has achieved in just ten fights. In only her fourth fight, she beat Nikki Adler to become the unified super-middleweight champion with the WBC and IBF belts.

In 2018, in what was her sixth professional fight, Shields defeated Hanna Gabriels to become unified middleweight champion; holding the WBA and IBF titles. The American then added the third belt immediately when she beat Hannah Rankin to win the WBC belt.

Finally, in 2019, she put herself amongst legendary company by becoming undisputed. Shields took on Christina Hammer and beat her via unanimous decision to become an undisputed champion of the world.

In 2020, Shields went one better and added a third weight class to her accolades. She beat Ivana Habazin to become the unified super-welterweight champion.

As of 2021, she is the fastest fighter in terms of fights to become a two-weight and three-weight world champion. 2021 will see her make history again as she prepared to take on Marie-Eve Dicaire with the chance to become the first boxer, male or female to be undisputed in two weight categories.

Claressa Shields: Foundation and Charity 2021

The ?GWOAT? is no stranger to giving back to her society. In 2020, she joined legendary boxer Anthony Dirrell in an event to raise money for the ‘Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint?.

The club is a charity organization that helps feed over 150 kids during the school year and 400 kids in the break.

Shields is also an active participant in the Women?s sports foundation. In 2019, the ?GWOAT? did her bit by launching the ?Claressa Shields Community Project? aimed at providing assistance to kids from the Flint area.
