The LeBron James-Drake Instagram situation has had its early repercussions, as one popular streamer decided to side with the Canadian rapper after he had unfollowed the “King” on social media. It’s unclear what led to this decision, but after James spent months singing Kendrick Lamar’s hit song “Not Like Us,” a diss track against Drake, many wondered if their relationship would be good afterward.
A video shared on X/Twitter on Friday shows streamer Adin Ross selling his $500,000-worth Audemars Piguet watch online. He explained that since James had the same watch and Drake had unfollowed him on Instagram, he thought it would be best to get rid of this accessory.
“I’ll just tell you guys the truth,” Ross said. “I’m selling this piece ’cause LeBron has this piece and Drake unfollowed Bron. There. That’s the reason why I’m doing it. I don’t care. Michael Jordan is better.”
Adin Ross has become famous for his livestreams with celebrities, including rapper Tory Lanez, Andrew Tate and even presidential candidate Donald Trump. His relationship with Drake has grown as he became more popular. So much so that the rapper allowed him to preview a new song called “Discontinuing Wockhardt” at the start of September.
Despite having strong admiration for LeBron James, Ross picked sides here and stayed loyal to Drake, even saying that Michael Jordan is better than the LA Lakers superstar.
While Drake and Adin Ross are taking action to not be linked with LeBron James, the four-time NBA champion appears to be at peace with this situation. The Lakers returned to practice this week, and “King James” was seen rapping to Drake’s “Free Smoke” during the team’s second day of practice.
It’s worth noting that James himself suggested new Lakers coach JJ Redick bring a DJ to practice, which he agreed to. Redick mentioned that nobody but the DJ has access to the aux cord, which can explain why James had no other choice but to listen to this song.
Drizzy and James have been close to each other for many years. LeBron even starred in one of Drake’s videos when he was younger and was even brought to the stage during a Drake show in 2023 at Crypto.com Arena.
After the Kendrick Lamar-Drake feud unfolded, James appeared to be closer to the Compton native, which apparently led to the end of his friendship with the Toronto rapper.
