Roger Federer is one of the most well-known athletes in the world. The retired professional tennis player was ranked No. 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals for 310 weeks and was the first male player to win more than 14 Grand Slams. On May 1, he will walk the Met Gala red carpet as one of the evening’s co-chairs with Dua Lipa, Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz and Anna Wintour.
The athlete is married to former women’s tennis player Mirka since 2009. The couple met while representing Switzerland at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Throughout the years, they have graced red carpets and sports awards in coordinating style.

The couple attended Paris Fashion Week, sitting front-row at the Christian Dior show. Roger wore a classic navy blue suit while Mirka’s outfit, a black sweater worn over a multicolor set.
To the 2017 Met Gala, where the theme was “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between,” Mirka and Roger arrived in glamorous outfits. She wore a silver v-neckline lamé gown and he donned a classic Gucci tuxedo. The standout detail, however, was in the back of Roger’s suit jacket, which was adorned with an embroidered crystal king cobra snake.
In 2008, before the couple wed, they arrived at the Laureus World Sports Awards in St.Petersburg, Russia, wearing all black. Mirka wore a black midi dress with a gold buckle, pairing the ensemble with a gold clutch. Roger wore a timeless black suit with a velvet-like jacket and a black bowtie.
For one of the couple’s earliest appearances in 2003 at the Wimbledon Ball in London, they coordinated in red-themed outfits.
