Bron Breakker defeated Jey Uso on Monday night’s episode of WWE Raw to win the Intercontinental Championship for the second time in his young career.

After falling short in several previous attempts, Jey finally won the first singles title of his 14-year WWE career on the Sept. 23 edition of Raw when he beat Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.

Breakker initially showed Jey respect and was seemingly taking the high road coming out of their match, but all of that changed a couple of weeks later after Jey’s successful title defense against Xavier Woods.

Bron came from out of nowhere to viciously spear Jey before also spearing Woods and his New Day teammate in Kofi Kingston. Breakker speared Uso one more time for good measure before raising the IC title above his head.

That set the stage for a championship rematch between Uso and Breakker, but Jey also had some family matters to deal with that could have potentially distracted him from the task at hand.

Jey’s twin brother, Jimmy Uso, returned to the fold at Bad Blood after several months away, once again aligning himself with Roman Reigns.

When Jimmy was last seen, he was part of The Bloodline, and he faced Jey in a brother vs. brother match at WrestleMania 40. Jimmy was then kicked out of The Bloodline by Solo Sikoa.

Jimmy showed up on a recent episode of Raw to appeal to Jey for help against the new Bloodline, but Jey blew him off and made it clear he wasn’t interested.

Jey then showed up on the Oct. 18 episode of SmackDown to confront Solo and The Bloodline. Jey questioned Sikoa’s actions and refused to acknowledge him, which conceivably put him in The Bloodline’s crosshairs.

On that same SmackDown, Jey encountered Jimmy and Reigns, and although he was friendly with his brother, he scoffed at Reigns telling him that he was proud of his accomplishments.

With Jey’s family situation looming over him, Breakker took advantage by winning Monday’s rematch and becoming a two-time intercontinental champion.
