Bronson Reed has given an insight into his recent destructive segments with Braun Strowman and how some have incorrectly assumed that some of the segments have been pre-taped ahead of time.
Throughout September, Reed and Strowman were seen battling all around arenas and crashing through multiple objects in the process, which culminated in a Last Monster Standing match that saw the ring implode.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet about his chemistry with The Monster, Reed admitted that while he did not expect to go viral with the Strowman segments, the mass destruction had the desired effect:
“I was excited to be able to work with Braun. I think there was a natural chemistry there, we have maybe touched one time before in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal last year. And I was like, Oh, we could do something there with me and him. But then it’s like, what do you do?
Then Hunter obviously had great vision for things, came up with the car angle and everything. Then once we were filming that, it’s in the moment, I was like, Okay, this is gonna be cool. I think people were gonna really respond to this. And then it ended up being WWE’s most viral moment of the week. I think it got almost 13 million views across social media platforms. So it worked.”
Continuing, Reed spoke about the viral moment where he gave Strowman a Tsunami on the car that saw the vehicle implode. Reed stated that some thought that the car break spot was pre-taped and spliced into the live show but was in fact shot live as it happened:
“No you cant [practice it] It’s one of those things. The car’s there and it’s like, if we practice it, we’re going to destroy the car. So it just has to be [there and then] and that also was all one live take as well. Some people thought that maybe we stopped recording that earlier in the day or something and then did the rest live. I was like, No, that’s all one continuous thing, everything me and Braun’s done has been live.”
With multiple moments from the Strowman rivalry catching the attention of fans, one spot in particular proved to be very popular online. During the same interview, Bronson Reed admitted that he was surprised that the clip was such a hit with fans.
