Carlito Needs To Be Kicked Out Of The Judgment Day Right Now

For the last few years, while the Bloodline has been dominating WWE over on SmackDown, the Judgment Day has had Monday night and Raw locked down. The faction was so cool that WWE had to turn Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley into babyfaces, before the group changed, adding Liv Morgan, and kicking Priest and Ripley out. Raquel Rodriguez is now in the group as well, making it more crowded than it needs to be. Someone needs to go, but it’s for the best of reasons. It’s time for the Judgment Day to kick Carlito to the curb.

Carlito Didn’t Do Much After Rejoining WWE

Carlito Had A Small Role In The LWO

Carlito made his WWE debut in 2004 and was immediately given a strong push as the heel “Carlito Caribeean Cool”. He had the look, the charisma, and attitude, as he’d tell a babyface that they weren’t cool before taking a bite from an apple and spitting it in their face. Carlito became an Intercontinental and United States Champion, and later won tag team gold with his brother, Primo, but he never became a main eventer.

Carlito was released by WWE in 2010 after failing a Wellness Program test and refusing to enter rehab. He became one of those “what if” wrestlers who fans wondered if they would have made it if they’d had a different attitude and stayed away from the drugs. In 2021, Carlito made a very brief return to WWE, entering the Royal Rumble and having a match the next night on Raw. Fans went nuts for him, and he was in the best shape of his life. It felt like WWE was going to sign him, but it took over two more years before Carlito finally re-signed with the company who made him famous. He made his debut at Backlash, helping Bad Bunny against Damian Priest, and again, fans went wild, but Carlito rarely appeared, and even when he joined the LWO, he still didn’t do much.

The Judgment Day Should’ve Made Carlito A Bigger Star

Carlito Feels Like A Background Character With A Catchphrase

Carlito Judgment Day

It made sense that Carlito would turn heel earlier this year before moving to Raw and becoming part of the Judgment Day. He was lost on SmackDown and with a lackluster LWO, but now he was being put next to one of the biggest factions in recent memory while they were at their hottest.

Sadly, WWE again dropped the ball with Carlito. He became the group’s comedy relief, dropping his “cool” catchphrase to laughs when looking at photos of Liv Morgan or commenting on her possible relationship with Dominik Mysterio. He barely ever wrestled and didn’t feel like he fit in. Carlito had become a nostalgia act who stood around in the background without much to do except get beat up when the moment called for it.

While Jim Ross had some criticism towards Carlito’s work ethic, he revealed that the second generation star was a huge ladies man!

A Report Suggests That Carlito Might Be Leaving The Judgment Day

Carlito Needs To Be A Cool Solo Babyface Again

Carlito

The Judgment Day still rules Raw, even without the Terror Twins, but they’ve become a bloated group. Someone needs to go, and it looks like it could very well be Carlito. On WrestleVotes Radio, Carlito’s role in the faction was discussed. Joey Votes brought up that there had been talks in WWE about removing Carlito from the Judgment Day by the end of the year and giving him a possible singles push. WrestleVotes added:

“I think now, with the addition of Raquel Rodriguez to the Judgment Day, it started to get a little bit bloated. And I think if you have a street trash type gimmick for the Judgment Day where they’re kind of thugs and, you know, getting….rule breakers in that sort of environment, if you don’t toe the line of the entire group, or if you step out of line a little bit, or if you make a mistake, you’re going to pay for those mistakes. So I think you’re going to see Carlito here in the next couple of weeks, sort of give the Judgment Day a reason to want to excommunicate him from the group. And I think he deserves a singles run.” (h/t WrestlingNews.co)

This needs to happen. For one, the Judgment Day badly needs to move on from fighting with Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley to do something different. A feud with a group like the Wyatt Sicks would do wonders for them, and infighting, with Carlito as the cause, could be an interesting added element.

The Judgment Day needs to become smaller so each member can get more attention, and Carlito needs to be given a chance to show that he’s still got it. He’s 45 and is probably in the last years of his career. Fans love him, so why not give him a push to show that he’s still got it? He can own anyone on the mic when given the opportunity, and he is still in phenomenal shape, making him the ideal sports entertainer. So give Carlito a chance, WWE, because he’s still got it. That would be cool.
