Christian McCaffrey! A man who is his own enemy. But we aren’t the ones claiming this. The RB’s father, Ed McCaffrey, is saying this about him. But why?

If you are unaware, Ed McCaffrey was just featured on the Ross Tucker Podcast. There, he talked about his son, Christian, who is currently injured and out of the field. If you can’t recall, Christian McCaffrey had a serious injury during the 49ers’ training camp on August 6. His calf and Achilles tendon are suspected of being hurt pretty badly.

Ed McCaffrey talked exactly about those things and stated, “If I would say Christian (McCaffrey) has a weakness, it’s that he, you know, sometimes has to protect himself from himself.” He expressed these things in the context of his son being extremely conscientious and over-training. Which we all can assume is absolutely right. After all, CMC was hurt in a training camp, which suggests he was obviously pushing himself too hard.

More than that, the RB’s father also stated what Christian McCaffrey is thinking watching his team. Right now, the RB is fully motivated to do something big when he returns. He has a great thrill in himself that motivates him to become a beast when he returns to the field. More than that, the adrenaline is pushing him to come back as soon as possible.

But what is his current injury status and by when can he return?

In short, there is no absolute certainty about this question, but right now it is mostly no. It is understandable that this is difficult to hear for the fans, but that is the reality. You might not be aware that the running back has damaged both of his legs. A couple of days ago, it was revealed that he had bilateral Achilles tendonitis.

For those who are unaware, this condition causes calf muscle swelling and severe agony. Normally, if a person suffers from this, they will take months to recover. Right now, CMC is going to be monitored for 6 months. Till then, if the swelling does not subside, CMC may be going under surgery.

It is devastating news for the fans and they will now be hoping for him to heal as soon as possible. According to the latest sources, the injury appears to be more severe in one leg, and the RB is really concerned about that leg. Only time will tell if Christian McCaffrey can truly return to the gridiron this year or not.
