Concerned about LeBron James and Anthony Davis being overloaded after the Olympics, what did the Los Angeles Lakers coach say?

This past summer, LeBron James and Anthony Davis performed their national service, playing for the US team at the 2024 Paris Olympics and winning the prestigious gold medal with their teammates.

Both Los Angeles Lakers representatives played excellently and left many impressions. If LeBron James led the impressive attack, Anthony Davis played a pivotal role in defense, both became indispensable names of the US team.

However, not everyone is positive about the above image, especially a part of Los Angeles Lakers fans. They think that LeBron James and Anthony Davis really need the summer to rest and recover their physical condition.

The offseason is extremely important for both physical and mental recovery for NBA players, especially key players with high minutes like James and Davis.

But instead of resting, both LeBron and AD trained throughout the summer with the US team, alternating between 11 competitive appearances (including 5 friendlies and 6 games at the Olympics).

So will LeBron James and Anthony Davis be relieved of their duties during the preseason? Or will they even have reduced minutes in the early games of the 2024-25 NBA Regular Season?

Instead of having a summer to rest, relax and recover before the 2024-25 NBA season, Anthony Davis and LeBron James spent more than a month training and competing in the Olympics with the US team.

Sharing about this, the new head coach of Los Angeles Lakers, Mr. JJ Redick, said: ” We will definitely make adjustments to suit both of their physical conditions, but I also believe that they will be ready because both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are very professional.”

The coaching staff will work closely with Mike Mancias ( LeBron’s personal fitness coach – PV) and Jon Ishop ( Lakers’ assistant fitness coach – PV ) to monitor LeBron and AD, ensuring they are 100% ready before taking the field to compete.

“Certainly both will join the team, practice and participate in friendly matches before the new season ,” coach JJ Redick added.

There are certain concerns about the fitness of LeBron James and Anthony Davis ahead of the new season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the past few seasons, both Anthony Davis and LeBron James have tended to sit out preseason friendlies to “rest their legs.”

However, the Los Angeles Lakers have a new coach this season, applying a new offensive and defensive system to the whole team. LeBron and AD playing friendly matches will help them assemble a better squad, perfect preparation for the Regular Season.
