Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker was present for the football game between Texas and Georgia on Saturday in Austin, where he got the chance to interact with Academy Award-winning actor and Longhorn alumnus Matthew McConaughey.
Booker joined Suns teammate Kevin Durant, who also attended the University of Texas at Austin, along with their other Suns teammates to witness the game live. While at it, the four-time NBA All-Star guard was seen talking to McConaughey on the sidelines.

The No. 1-ranked Longhorns went on to lose to the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs, 30-15, absorbing their first defeat in seven games so far this season.
Meanwhile, the Suns played five preseason games ahead of their 2024-25 NBA campaign, going 3-2. Devin Booker played in three of the games and averaged 14.7 points, 2.7 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 22 minutes.
Phoenix, which is now coached by Mike Budenholzer (previously of Milwaukee), will begin their regular season campaign on the road in Los Angeles, taking on the Clippers in their opener on Wednesday and the Lakers on Friday.
Devin Booker enters his 10th year in the NBA in the 2024-25 season and is playing under a new coach in Mike Budenholzer. He is looking forward to working with the one-time champion coach as they aim to win a championship for the Phoenix Suns.
Budenholzer, who steered the Milwaukee Bucks to the NBA title over the Suns in 2021, took over from Frank Vogel in the offseason and is now tasked to lead a retooled Phoenix squad, which exited in the opening round of the 2024 playoffs.
During media day for the new season earlier this month, Devin Booker shared his thoughts on their new coach and how the dynamic has been between them so far, saying:
“Well he’s a hell of a golfer. We actually got around and he’s a competitor. But you know we obviously seen a lot of him in the finals run and he just wants to win. So, you know I’m rallying behind him. What he says that’s always been my motto. He wants to lead and we want to follow.”
Check out what he had to say below, beginning at 3:54:
Last season, Devin Booker played and started in 68 games and wound up with averages of 27.1 points, 6.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 36 minutes. His Suns, however, fell short in the postseason, making an early exit at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
This summer, Booker teamed up with Durant as well as LeBron James and Steph Curry to help Team USA to the gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
