The Rock made his much-anticipated WWE return at the end of Bad Blood 2024. The Great One showed up after Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes defeated the team of Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. The Final Boss had a subtle face-off with The Original Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare from the ramp.
The People’s Champion has not been seen on WWE television since the RAW after WrestleMania XL. Many critics suggested that The Rock might not return before The Showcase of Immortals next year. However, his comeback at the Atlanta event left everyone shocked. Although The Rock did not speak a single word during the premium live event, he once again implied a long-term story with just a gesture. The Great One has seemingly hinted at a massive match for WrestleMania 41.
The Rock showed up right at the moment when Roman Reigns was handing Cody Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship and was hinting at the third match between the duo. The 52-year-old star raised his eyebrow, looking straight at Roman and Cody in the ring. He then counted to three and made a throat-slitting gesture at the two babyfaces in the ring. Fans and pundits are now suggesting that The Final Boss could have teased a Triple-Threat match for WrestleMania 41.
At the Bad Blood 2024 post-show press conference, WWE’s CCO, Triple H, expressed his views on The Rock’s comeback. The Game described that the business was in Dwayne’s DNA. He added that he felt whenever The People’s Champion had time to contribute, he always showed up, and The Game felt thankful for it.
“I thought it’s amazing, the return of Jimmy Uso, and then The Rock showing up. You have to be the biggest superstar in the world to be able to hit your music, walk out, blow the roof off the place, and I am out. It’s epic. I’m thankful to him. With everything he has got going on in his career and his life, he has never looked away from what brought him to the dance and what his roots are. It’s in his DNA, it is in his blood, it is who he is. Anytime we are at a place where he can take that 30 seconds from his incredible schedule to come back and feel that electricity that you can only get in WWE, he does it. I am thrilled for it and thankful for him,” said Triple H.
It will certainly be fascinating to see in what direction will WWE take The Final Boss, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes’ storyline down the line and if they will indeed lock horns in a Triple-Threat title bout.
