Father of Two, Novak Djokovic Gushes About His ‘Favorite’ Moments with Kids Stefan and Tara!

Striking a chord with his family, Novak Djokovic enjoys a musical life! While on the Wimbledon front, history is ready to repeat itself with the Serb going against Carlos Alcaraz. However, at the same time, he is also fulfilling his fatherly duties with his kids by his side. Recently, the 24-time Grand Slam champion revealed the musical band he is creating with his kids, Stefan and Tara.

Following his Wimbledon triumphs this year, Djokovic has been seen celebrating by imitating a violinist. He disclosed in a recent interview that this lighthearted act is a sincere homage to his musical family background. His daughter recently started to play the instrument, “That was for Tara. My [daughter] has been playing violin for some time already, six months, and we agreed that I would celebrate that way.”

Deeply passionate about music, Djokovic frequently adds this element into his celebrations, bringing the harmony and joy that music offers to his family.

He told Vogue Adria, “Tara plays the violin, Stefan loves to play the guitar, and I play the saxophone. Sometimes our jams last for hours, and it’s my favorite part of the day or trip. Yes, I admit – we take our instruments on trips. Maybe my little band was responsible for my victory at the US Open and the twenty-fourth Grand Slam I won.”

The 24-time Grand Slam champion then discussed the value of being present in the moment as a dad, which he believes to be the most important lesson he has learned from his kids. Djokovic said, “The best thing I learned from my children is to be present in every moment.”

In 2023, Djokovic had said that the peaceful environment had played a significant role in his winning his 24th Grand Slam championship at the US Open, demonstrating the significant influence that his family’s inventiveness and support have had on his success in the game.

Djokovic’s daughter Tara’s love for the violin took center stage during the Serb’s campaign at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. In an unusual style, Djokovic celebrated his hard-fought victory over Alexei Popyrin in the third round by imitating a violinist with his racket. But interestingly, while the Serbian shares his kids’ musical interests, only one of them reciprocates with their love of tennis!

While 6-year-old Tara’s love for the arts has been documented, she’s been spotted hitting balls with her brother and dad. And yet, it’s 8-year-old Stefan who’s usually more enthusiastic about watching his dad play. Just a few days ago, when Djokovic was up against Australia’s Alexei Popyrin, Stefan imitated a smash from his dad and even today against Lorenzo Musetti, he was clapping like a proud coach!

And yet, Djokovic wishes his daughter would take part too. Against Popyrin, Tara was rather more interested in reading a book about unicorns, to which her dad had a bittersweet reply. “I love unicorns, of course! I was very happy when I saw that. And sad at the same time because my tennis doesn’t make her excited so much, so she needs to grab a book to entertain herself,” Djokovic told The Tennis Channel.

But nevertheless, the Serbian loves having his family around, watching him take another SW19 by storm. Who knows, a decade or so from now, we might see another Djokovic on the courts!
