Cody Rhodes is one of the top superstars in WWE now and has been enjoying a dream run since winning the Undisputed WWE Championship since Wrestlemania 40. Cody became the face of WWE after his title win at the biggest show of the year and is now enjoying a purple patch in the ring.
Cody, who has been retaining his title since winning it, has named the WWE superstar he would like to face in an Ironman Match. He ignored Roman Reigns and picked Seth Rollins ahead of him.
“I’d love to do … he [Seth Rollins] is such a great in-ring wrestler, in addition to all the other things he is – if I had to go 60 minutes with anybody, I’d certainly like to test myself with somebody like him in an Iron Man setting,” Cody told Inside the Ropes.
Cody and Seth had a great rivalry in 2022. The American Nightmare made his return to WWE at Wrestlemania 38 and defeated Seth. The duo continued their rivalry and Cody defeated him at Wrestlemania Backlash.
An injured Cody Rhodes defeated Seth in the main event of Hell in a Cell. The former World Heavyweight Champion turned a babyface before Cody’s return at Royal Rumble 2023 and they haven’t squared off since then. They could be part of a rivalry in the future.
Cody and Seth teamed up at Wrestlemania 40 and squared off against the team of The Rock and Roman Reigns. The Bloodline won the match. On night 2 of Wrestlemania, Seth lost his championship to Drew McIntyre.
Cody emerged victorious in the main event and defeated Roman to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. Roman remained off the WWE TV after the show and made his return at SummerSlam. The Rock made an appearance on Raw after Wrestlemania. He is likely to face Cody at Wrestlemania 41.
