Immediately following Media Day across the NBA, teams will enter the pre-season 2024-25 period (known as Training Camp).
This is the time when teams gather and practice with about 20-22 players. Besides the 13-15 names in the official squad, teams will usually give training and trial opportunities to 5-7 reserve players.
This number of players will be gradually cut down to 18 (15 official players and 3 two-way players) before the Regular Season officially begins in about 3 weeks.
Ahead of Training Camp, Golden State Warriors has just announced the list of 21 players participating in the pre-season gathering.
Familiar names such as captain Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Gary Payton II, Andrew Wiggins… all appeared. Warriors’ blockbuster transfer Buddy Hield will also make his appearance and get acquainted with his new teammates.
In addition to the starting lineup, Golden State added several tryouts including Blake Hinson, Jackson Rowe and former lottery-pick Kevin Knox II.
The detailed list is as follows:
Entering their first season without Klay Thompson in more than a decade, the Golden State Warriors will have a new direction for the reunion period. They will hold a Training Camp in Hawaii, about a 5-hour flight from the club’s main base.
Coach Steve Kerr’s team will practice twice a day starting on October 2 before hosting the LA Clippers in a friendly match on October 6.
The team will then travel to California for five more exhibition games, including two against the Sacramento Kings, two against the Los Angeles Lakers, and one against the Detroit Pistons.
Stephen Curry and his teammates’ regular season will kick off on October 24 away against the Portland Trail Blazers.
