Is Goldberg on his way back to WWE for a retirement match? WWE’s post on X has led to the rumours of a dream match and the former world champion could be on his way back to the company for one more match. WWE took to X to share a picture of Golderg with Bron Breakker at a football game.
Like Goldberg, Breakker has also made a huge impact in the ring in a short period. Interestingly, Breakker uses a spear as his finishing move. Goldberg speared countless superstars during his time in WCW and WWE.
It will be interesting to see if Goldberg makes his WWE return and faces Breakker in a dream match. Breakker is the present Intercontinental Champion.
When did Goldberg last compete in WWE?
Goldberg has been away from WWE since February 2022. He last competed against Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber. He challenged the Tribal Chief for the Universal Championship and lost.
Goldberg’s contract with WWE ended after that match and he has been away from the company. The former Universal Champion held talks with AEW but he didn’t join the company. Goldberg hasn’t got a farewell match and the fans are waiting to see him in the ring once more.
Goldberg was a part-timer since 2016
For the first time since 2004, Goldberg made his WWE return in 2016 and signed a part-time deal. He competed in a handful of matches in a year. Goldberg shockingly won the Universal Championship twice after his return.
He was scheduled to drop the title to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 37 but the match was cancelled. He instead lost to Braun Strowman. Goldberg made his WWE return in 2021 for a storyline with Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley. He did face Reigns at the Elimination Chamber and lost.
