The world number one became the first person this year to surpass the $10 million mark in prize money.

Jannik Sinner has earned over $10 million in prize money to date.

Jannik Sinner had a very successful 2024 season, winning several major tournaments, and that’s why he became the first player this year to surpass the $10 million mark in prize money.

This was not an easy feat to achieve ten years ago, as prize money has increased over the years. It is not even a regular occurrence, as a player has to play exceptionally well over 12 months and win multiple titles to earn this amount of money.

Sinner did exactly that in 2024, including two Grand Slam titles. One of those titles was the recently concluded US Open, where Sinner earned more than $3.6 million from that tournament alone.

It was his biggest win of the year, and finally pushed his total past the $10 million mark, to $10,590,709, to be exact. It also pushed his total prize money past Carlos Alcaraz, who currently sits at $8,155,657 after the US Open.

If the Spaniard wins the US Open, he will take Sinner’s place in the prize money lead and also surpass the $10 million mark. In addition to the US Open, Sinner also recently won the Cincinnati Open.

The tournament earned him $1,049,460, a significant contribution to his total prize money. It was the second ATP Masters 1000 event he won this year, following the Miami Open, where he earned $1,100,000.

Some tournaments he didn’t win also contributed significantly to the total, although winning obviously brought in the most money. One of the tournaments he didn’t win was Wimbledon, where Sinner earned nearly $490,000.

Roland Garros was another event he didn’t win, but he made it to the semifinals there, earning over $716k, so Wimbledon and Roland Garros brought him a combined total of over a million dollars in prize money.

Between those events, Sinner played in Halle and won the ATP 500 title. The Indian Wells Open was also a tournament he advanced to, but due to a doping scandal, Sinner was stripped of all points and prize money.

If he had not been stripped, his total prize money could have been close to $11 million, a huge number. The Australian Open is also a Grand Slam, and also contributes a lot to his total.

By winning the Melbourne Slam, the Italian earned $2,100,000. Overall, Sinner’s efforts on the tennis court have been well rewarded with huge prize money this year, and that’s why he became the first player to surpass the $10 million mark and earned the most among all players.
