Heel Bron Breakker locked horns with ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship in the main event of the showcase. Jey Uso finally ended his singles title drought after he defeated Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship title.

Jey Uso dethrones Bron Breakker, Becomes the new Intercontinental Champion at WWE RAW Main Event

At the main event of Monday Night RAW at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker put his title on the line against Jey Uso after he won the qualifiers for the championship match. Uso has been a part of WWE for 14 years and he has wreaked havoc alongside his brother, Jimmy Uso. But for the first time in 14 years, Jey has won a singles title in his wrestling career after he defeated Breakker in singles action.

Bron Breakker looked physically dominant but Jey Uso showcased determination as he fought back with Bron. There was a moment when it looked like Breakker had retained the title after he was charging in for a spear. But Uso notched a super-kick and then hit the champion with a spear through the barricade. Uso gets Breakker in the squared circle and smashes him with a spear! Jey then heads to the top rope and hits an Uso Splash as the referee counts for the one, two and three! Uso held the title up high as he went through the crowd and the fireworks lit up to celebrate his grand win.

Making Jey Uso a singles champion is something which the fans have been yearning for a long time. For the WWE , they held the brakes as they made the fans wait to totally soak in the thrill for a fan-favourite to clinch singles gold. Moreover, Jey has been a solid asset to the company as he has been profitable in terms of merchandise sales and arena sellout shows.

However, it was rather surprising on how Bron Breakker’s IC title reign had an abrupt end. Given that he has the calibre to become a main event superstar in the future, dethroning him early could bring in criticism from the fans.
