While the LBA is a league created by Kai Cenat, it sported an incredible production value. The streamer had renowned announcer Bruce Buffer introduce him by calling out his name at the championship game. He also collaborated with various celebrities for the league, including Ruby Rose, who made a special appearance at the final.

Kai Cenat announced his retirement from streaming last month to pursue a professional basketball career. Since then, he hosted a draft for his own league and has been playing with kids in the LBA the past week. The league featured four matchups, one game per day from Saturday to Wednesday.

Cenat’s team defeated Dallas on Saturday before winning against Atlanta on Sunday. The Skyscrapers then defeated Phoenix in the semifinals on Monday, after which Kai had an injury scare ahead of the finals as he reportedly left the arena with a right knee sprain. The streamer powered through the injury to help his team win the LBA championship on Wednesday.

The LBA championship game held on Wednesday concluded with Kai Cenat’s New York City Skyscrapers defeating the Phoenix Towers to clinch the championship.

After the trophy presentation for the event, Cenat’s jersey was retired and hung on the rafters. The streamer grew emotional while speaking about his retirement as his jersey was retired after winning the LBA championship.

“You know what, means a lot, you feel what I’m saying,” he said. I gave it all, everything I had. New York Sky number three, I came here for my first year, won a championship and I retired.”

Cenat further said that he may come back to play in the league in the future, until which he will go back to streaming.

“Who knows? Ajani, Jodi, I might need y’all again in the future, you never know if I want to come back to the sport at LBA,” Cenat continued. “But until then, I’mma take my a** to streaming.”

With that, Kai Cenat concluded his LBA career as one of the best 22-year-olds to ever play in the league. He was previously featured as one of the players in the 2024 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
