LeBron James has been the NBA’s all-time leading career scorer for a little while, and he has attained some other statistical milestones and accomplishments that speak volumes about his insane longevity. At age 39 and going into his 22nd NBA season, he is still going strong, especially after helping to lead Team USA men’s basketball to an Olympic gold medal a few weeks ago.

He is also by far the all-time leader in playoff points with 8,162. Michael Jordan is second on the list but well behind him with 5,987 points.

This coming season, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar will have the opportunity to reach a truly unthinkable scoring milestone: 50,000 combined points in both NBA regular season and playoff games.

For some perspective, legendary Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is second on that list with a combined 44,149 points.

James signed a two-year contract earlier this summer to remain with Los Angeles. The second year of that deal is a player option year, but one has to wonder if he will ultimately keep playing beyond that two-year contract and continue to add to his eye-popping career stats.
