LeBron James Sparks Buzz as Met Gala Co-Chair, Raising Eyebrows Over Diddy Connection

New York elites are crying foul over LeBron James teaming up with The Met.

The basketball superstar was named honorary chair of The Met Gala, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced on Wednesday — and some say his long Diddy association should disqualify him from headlining the star-studded event.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is in federal custody after being charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The four-time NBA champ, along with Chris Brown and Kevin Hart, are some of the famous faces that could be named as guests at the disgraced hip hop mogul’s “Freak Off” parties, Derrick Parker — known as the “Hip Hop Cop” for his 20 years of experience consulting on rap-related crimes — told NewsNation’s Paula Froelich.

After it was revealed that Combs allegedly had females engage in sex acts with male sex workers at his parties, a video of James, 39, saying “ain’t no party like a Diddy party,” resurfaced.

In the four-year-old clip, which was taken from an Instagram Live chat, Combs replied, “Yeah that’s whats up!”

James, a dad of three who’s been married to his high school sweetheart for 38 years, has yet to address the controversy.

The storied spring gala — titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” to be held in May — also welcomes co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams.

Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, a longtime trustee of The Met who is instrumental in the gala’s planning, will also serve as one of its co-chairs.

The Post reached out to reps for James and Wintour for comment.
