Power forward in NBA 2K24 is a position that has grown on expert gamers. After an overhaul to posting up, this is one of the most reliable ways to score in the game, especially against tight defense. Being able to help out with blocks and rebounds is no small benefit either.

The issue for power forwards on the wrong team is that they’ll get doubled up without worrying about who that leaves open. NBA 2K24 allows power forwards to choose a team but going to the wrong squad can make for a very painful experience.
Indiana Pacers
PG | Tyrese Haliburton | 88 |
SG | Bruce Brown | 80 |
SF | Buddy Hield | 80 |
PF | Obi Toppin | 78 |
C | Myles Turner | 83 |
After replacing Obi Toppin, which shouldn’t be hard to do, power forwards in Indiana have a great deal of flexibility. The rest of the team is versatile and playing at either an average or above-average level in most aspects. Without a need for one specific facet, players can get creative with their builds.
Additionally, because they don’t have any of the highest-rated players, whatever the MyPlayer is will automatically become the feature for the Pacers. The team is good enough not to blow any wins on their own but they also won’t be carrying the team.
Philadelphia
PG | James Harden | 89 |
SG | Tyrese Maxey | 85 |
SF | Tobias Harris | 81 |
PF | P.J. Tucker | 75 |
C | Joel Embiid | 96 |
The 76ers are dying for a shot at a championship. Joel Embiid is one of the best centers in the game and is coming off of an MVP season. James Harden at point guard is an elite scorer on the perimeter. This leaves the mid-range any newcomer at power forward.

P.J. Tucker is a liability and can be replaced very quickly after joining the team. After that, a championship becomes almost a guarantee with any competent level of play. This team needs just one more good player to win the Finals and it might as well be the gamer’s player to fill in that role.
Los Angeles Clippers
PG | Russell Westbrook | 81 |
SG | Paul George | 89 |
SF | Kawhi Leonard | 94 |
PF | Marcus Morris Sr. | 76 |
C | Ivica Zubac | 80 |
The Clippers have strong name recognition at almost every spot except for power forward and center. The current center is fine but Marcus Morris Sr. is in dire need of replacement. After taking over for him, the paint belongs exclusively to the new power forward.
The perimeter is set and ready. Kawhi Leonard is incredible when he’s healthy and Paul George is one of the best shooting guards around. Russell Westbrook fills in a ton of gaps at point guard. Be ready to get all the offensive and defensive opportunities on the inside when playing in Los Angeles and take the Clippers to their first title.
Atlanta Hawks
PG | Trae Young | 89 |
SG | Dejounte Murray | 84 |
SF | De’Andre Hunter | 80 |
PF | Saddiq Bey | 78 |
C | Clint Capela | 82 |
Atlanta has a true superstar in Traw Young, one of the game’s best point guards, but he’s missing a second player to take the team where it needs to go. Looking at the lineup, Saddiq Bey is the obvious weakness and a talented power forward would really boost Atlanta’s playoff potential.

The Hawks would love anything they can get. Even a stretch big to set screens for Young and take outside shots if the lane closes would be dominant. The supporting cast will do their jobs but allow the MyPlayer to shoulder the load on either end of the court.
Los Angeles Lakers
PG | D’Angelo Russell | 82 |
SG | Austin Reaves | 82 |
SF | LeBron James | 96 |
PF | Jarred Vanderbilt | 79 |
C | Anthony Davis | 93 |
The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to get one more championship for LeBron James, one of the best small forwards and likely the best player at the position of all time in most analysts’ books. With Anthony Davis at center, this team is almost unbeatable inside of the paint once Jarred Vanderbilt is replaced.
The guards are solid but not stealing the show so this could be a great place for a big to show off some rare ball handling skills or perimeter passing. A more typical build is also overpowered here, essentially deleting the interior from an opponent’s playbook.
Brooklyn Nets
PG | Spencer Dinwiddie | 81 |
SG | Mikal Bridges | 86 |
SF | Cameron Johnson | 81 |
PF | Dorian Finney-Smith | 77 |
C | Nicolas Claxton | 84 |
Brooklyn is at the start of a rebuild which is usually enough to make most gamers stay away. But looking at the team, outside of Dorian Finney-Smith at power forward, this is a solid lineup, even if a little unremarkable. After stepping in at power forward and being a star, Brooklyn can make their turnaround a breeze.
Much like the situation in Indiana, this team doesn’t really have a true superstar. Nobody will be an aggressive problem, they just also won’t be helping out much. So really stretch what the power forward is capable of doing and pack the stat box for the Nets.
NBA 2K24 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
