“I want to take some credit, I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor Swift concert. Travis was sitting in my room, so I felt like I was the matchmaker,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared on the Pat McAfee Show on May 23, referring to pop star Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour stop in Kansas City last July.

Mahomes, 28, said he gave Kelce, 34, the confidence to give Taylor Swift, 34, a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, even though Kelce failed at the time.

“I also gave my opinion and said, ‘Man, just do it. Just try it,'” the Kansas City Chiefs star continued.

Travis Kelce has been candid about his failed attempt to give Swift a friendship bracelet he made just for her.

“I was disappointed that she didn’t talk before or after her show because she had to save her voice,” Kelce explained on the New Heights podcast a few weeks after seeing the concert.

“So I kind of regret not giving her one of the bracelets I made for her… Taylor doesn’t see anyone – or at least she doesn’t want to see me…” he continued.

However, the efforts finally paid off when Taylor Swift admitted to their relationship after Kelce spoke about her “adorably” on his podcast.

“We started hanging out right away,” she told Time in December 2023. The couple kept their romance under wraps until the 14-time Grammy winner attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2023.

Most recently, Travis Kelce was spotted attending the pop star’s concert in Paris with Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper on May 12. Travis stayed in the “city of lights” for a short while, then he and Taylor Swift headed off for a romantic getaway to Lake Como, Italy.
