Samantha Irvin Drops Shocking Truth As Reason Behind Her WWE Exit

In a candid Instagram exchange with a fan, former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin revealed her reasons for parting ways with WWE, dropping the bomb that she didn’t like being a ring announcer.

Despite being viewed as one of the best in the business, Irvin noted that her career aspirations went well beyond announcing for the company and she hinted that a lack of opportunity to do something else in WWE is why she left.

Irvin Says She Wanted To Be A Manager Or The GM

Responding to fan comments, Irvin expressed that her passion extended beyond ring announcing. She did the job with great enthusiasm, but it apparently wasn’t her passion. She noted that it was really just her way in, but a lack of advancement made her want to pursue other options.

She wrote:

“I don’t like announcing. “I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action but I don’t love being an announcer.”

Irvin clarified that her goal within WWE was always to transition into a larger on-screen role, but WWE executives reportedly saw her strictly in a limited capacity. This led to her decision to quit, and she said she felt comfortable doing so as she didn’t have to work in a job she didn’t like because her husband, Ricochet was a millionaire.

She also seemed to suggest that WWE wasn’t giving Ricochet opportunities either, which is the reason he left. She says the narrative that he was “always in great positions” was false.

Irivin Just Didn’t Like Her Job Anymore

Irvin added, “I’m happy I don’t have to do a job I don’t like anymore.” It’s a shocking statement that few fans would have seen coming. It wasn’t about the people, the money, or management issues. She just didn’t love the role she was in.

At the end of the day, while she is seemingly taking a shot at WWE for not giving her a chance to expand her value in the company, fans are hopeful that Irvin’s passion and charisma will lead to new opportunities. WWE has already moved on, hiring Lilian Garcia and bringing her back to the company full-time.
