The Warriors’ visit to the White House was to celebrate their 2022 NBA Championship victory.
The Warriors recorded a comeback victory against the Washington Wizards in an NBA fixture a day earlier.
While in the capital of the United States of America (USA), the Warriors made the customary visit to the White House expected of every NBA championship-winning side.
Warriors visit White House
The Warriors earned the right to be hosted by the White House after they defeated the Boston Celtics 4-2 to win the 2022 NBA Championship last year.
The team led by star player Steph Curry toured the historical White House before a meeting with U.S President Joe Biden.

Curry thanked the White House for the reception as he spoke on behalf of his teammates and the Golden State Warriors organization.
Curry then gifted President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris Warriors jerseys with their last names.
He also appreciated the leaders for the safe return of WNBA star Britney Griner from prison in Russia following drug charges.
Curry praised the Biden administration and urged them to hang the jerseys in their offices.
He said, “That means a lot to know she’s here and home safe with the family, and all the work that went on behind the scenes to make that a reality.”

The Biden jersey had the number 46 as the 46th President while the Harris jersey had the number 1 as she is a California native.
Harris was delighted with the Warriors’ visit as she said, “As a very proud daughter of Oakland, California, it gives me immense personal pride as the vice president of the United States to say, Dub Nation is in the house.”
Biden praised the Warriors for their resilience proving doubters wrong after their last visit to the NBA finals in 2019.
He said, “The last couple of years were pretty tough. Critics wondered if this team was gone for good as a championship team.”
This is the second time this generation of the Golden State Warriors would visit the White House.
After their visit in 2015, they did not return following triumphs in 2017 and 2018 during the Donald Trump administration.
The Warriors now return to action in the NBA when they take on the team they defeated to win the Championship last year in the Boston Celtics on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
