Following a noteworthy and historic WrestleMania 40 event, WWE fans are already looking ahead to what next year’s event could hold. Predictions have been made already, but before WWE gets to the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada next year, there are plenty of things that need to happen.
Whether it be heel turns, babyface turns, returns, title changes, certain matches or booking directions, the following things need to happen in the coming months, not only to aid WWE’s programming for the better, but to also ensure WrestleMania 41 is set up to be the best it possibly can be.
Tiffany Stratton Needs To Cash In Her Money In The Bank Contract
WWE Shouldn’t Wait Until After WrestleMania 41
Ever since Tiffany Stratton won the briefcase, and ever since Nia Jax won the WWE Women’s Title, the implication has been that at some point in time, Stratton will betray Jax and cash in her contract. If WWE takes a different route, it would feel like a waste of time telling that story.
Jax has put in some good work in recent months, but she shouldn’t be champion all the way until next year’s show, so Stratton cashing in within the coming months, getting a big push, and defining herself as a star ahead of WrestleMania would be a good way to propel a struggling SmackDown women’s division.
Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest Need To Be Distanced From The Judgment Day
WWE Cannot Keep This Feud Going Until WrestleMania
Ever since SummerSlam, both Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest have feuded with The Judgment Day – this comes after two years of being in the group. Given Triple H’s track record, this rivalry could go on for months and months – but this should not be the case.
This is something that doesn’t need a long-term feud, as it has already proven to feel repetitive. Before WrestleMania 41, both Ripley and Priest need to distance themselves from the Judgment Day to prove they can hang on their own and do something different.
Kevin Owens Needs A Heel Turn To Boost His Career
Owens Has Felt Flat As A Babyface
Kevin Owens has been a babyface for a few years now, and whilst he has done well in that role, he has always been better as a heel. It has been teased for a little while, but WWE should not just let this be a false tease – he needs a heel turn soon.
Owens turning heel can make him feel like a much bigger star heading into WrestleMania season, meaning that any match he has on the show will feel like a far larger deal. Turning Owens heel is good for business.
Dominik Mysterio & Rey Mysterio Should Begin Their Next Chapter Well In Advance Of WrestleMania
Dominik Should Retire Rey At WrestleMania 41
Although it has been sprinkled in here and there, Dominik & Rey Mysterio are not currently feuding. However, before WrestleMania 41, they really need to dig deep into their rivalry and ensure that it gets the time it deserves.
Dominik should retire Rey at WrestleMania 41, whilst his father can still go at a high level, but it should have a lengthy build rather than a rushed one in the final month before WrestleMania.
WWE Need To Convince Becky Lynch To Come Back Before WrestleMania
The WWE Women’s Division Lacks Star Power
There are some promising individuals on the current women’s roster, but without a massive star and veteran to help elevate names and create stars, the current batch of women can only go so far. This is why WWE needs to bring Becky Lynch back into the mix before WrestleMania 41.
Lynch could face the likes of Tiffany Stratton, Giulia, Roxanne Perez, Lyra Valkyria, Dakota Kai, Chelsea Green, and more on the Grandest Stage Of Them All to make them far bigger stars in the aftermath.
Bronson Reed Should Become Intercontinental Champion Soon
Reed Is The Man To Defeat Jey Uso
Bronson Reed is on fire in WWE, and this needs to lead to him winning championship gold – before it is too late and the flame has run out. In the next few months, Reed should not only defeat Seth Rollins, but he should also go on to win the Intercontinental Championship from Jey Uso.
Bron Breakker recently moved towards being a babyface, and the build should be towards Reed vs. Breakker in a gigantic clash at WrestleMania 41, in which Breakker gets an even bigger star-making moment. Reed should have a dominant run before that moment, so a title win should come way before WrestleMania season.
Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill Should Split Up Before WrestleMania 41
WWE Shouldn’t Overdo Their Tag Team Run
Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill have been dominant in the tag team division, though it is all leading up to a heel turn from one of the two individuals. If WWE’s aim is to have these two face off at WrestleMania 41, then the turn should happen well in advance of that to build a strong and interesting story.
It is also important to give Cargill time to cement herself without Belair and establish herself as a singles star before a marquee match.
The Original Bloodline Should Reunite, Even If It Is Brief
Roman Reigns Needs To Defeat The Current Bloodline
The Bloodline saga is still ongoing, but the feud between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa should wrap up either before WrestleMania or at the show itself. During their feud, Reigns should reunite The Usos and Sami Zayn to take on Sikoa’s own Bloodline.
This would be a hot feud, and with the added elements it won’t feel tiresome or boring due to Sikoa’s underwhelming work. If this doesn’t take place in WarGames, then a faction vs. faction match at WrestleMania would be great.
CM Punk & Seth Rollins Should Start Their Feud Months Before WrestleMania 41
A Long-Term Feud Is What This Story Deserves
On the back of his rivalry with Drew McIntyre coming to an end, CM Punk should start his rivalry with Seth Rollins. They have had some interactions so far, but have not properly got into the thick of it as of yet.
Before 2024 ends and the Road To WrestleMania begins, this story should firmly be on the way. It should undergo a similar trajectory to the Punk/McIntyre feud, unwinding over several months before a long-waited pay-off match at WrestleMania 41, which will feel like a big deal.
Randy Orton Should Turn Heel And Feud With Cody Rhodes
This Feud Should Either Come Before WrestleMania Or At The Show
Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes has potential to be one of the best of both men’s careers, and it should either have the WWE Championship at the center of it, or at the very least take place at WrestleMania. Due to this, Orton’s heel turn should come soon.
This is due to the planned Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock match, which will either take place at WrestleMania 41 or prior to that to open the door for The Rock vs. Roman Reigns. This puts a time limit on Orton vs. Rhodes for the WWE Title, so doing it soon should be a priority. If Rhodes does lose the belt to The Rock before WrestleMania, then the heel turn should still take place to allow Rhodes to take on Orton at the show.
